Last Friday, Fido sent me the following text message:

“Due to technical issues you may need to review & re-record your voicemail personal greeting. Press & hold 1 then 3-3-1. Regular airtime charges apply.”

I’d expect some airtime as compensation for the time it would take me to re-record my personal greeting. If it takes each affected subscriber an average of five minutes to re-record a greeting, then a half-million pre-paid customers would add $500,000 to Fido’s bottom line, all because of a “technical issue” at Fido’s end.
