RSS Reader in PHP
We looked at an example application with a Flash interface to gain a better understanding of how Flash can interact with data from an external source.
Part of how the example application performed its function was through a PHP script that fetches RSS data from a remote server. The PHP script then processes the RSS data into arrays, traverses the arrays, and finally passes the selected data for rendering onto the screen via Flash.
Here’s example code that renders an RSS feed into plain HTML, without Flash.
In the last assignment for Dynamic Content 3, we’ll examine how Laszlo Presentation Server gets data out of an XML data source and how it can render a Flash interface using that data along with instructions embedded in an LZX file.
